The greatest blessing is to have Bibles available to our impoverished brethren in the rural areas of Uganda were the Lord’s church is fast growing. We have learned that truly the word of God is a treasure to be studied day after day.

 

In all parts of Uganda, our Lord has opened the doors that a little while ago were closed to the message of truth, and however small a part you have in people’s learning of God’s word, we must do that part.

 

What a blessing it is, to see people’s lives changed by studying the Bible, thus, ‘’viewing the cross of Calvary, looking upon the world’s redeemer, who for our sake became poor, that we through his poverty mighty be made rich, we shall feel that we are not to lay up for ourselves treasures on the earth, but to lay up treasures in the bank of heaven, which will never suspend payment nor fail. God has given Jesus to our world, and the question is, what can we give back to God in gifts and offerings to show our appreciation of His love to us? Freely ye have received, freely give’’

 

In the last five years, we have witnessed the growth of the Lord’s church in Uganda, most especially in the rural areas of Uganda, but, many of them are without Bibles. The Bible is a book Christians crave for, but because of high levels of poverty in Uganda, most Christians cannot afford to purchase Bibles of their own, because of high levels of poverty among our people in the rural areas, most struggle even to provide for their own needs, most of our brethren in rural areas don’t understand the English language, they need Bibles in their native languages which they can read and understand well. English language Bibles are cheap but the Bibles in native languages are a little bit expensive here.

 

And while in the developed world many Christian have the option of accessing a digital copy of the Bible, In Uganda it’s impossible because of poor internet connectivity, low levels of education, and lack of electricity in most rural areas. So, the printed Bible remains the most popular option for our rural brethren.
